Last year we welcomed Lizzie to the team at de Boer & Taylor and we are expanding our area in to Blandford and the DT11 area!
Lizzie is a passionate vet who qualified from Bristol Vet School in 2011. Since then she has continued to work hard on her professional development; becoming an Advanced Practitioner in Equine Practice, and then, beginning work on her Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice in Equine Medicine. Currently Lizzie is off on study leave working towards her final exams.
Advanced Practitioner Status is an official recognition of a vet’s particular knowledge and skill set in a designated field.
As an advanced practitioner Lizzie will be expected to demonstrate advanced problem solving skills, advanced and current knowledge and understanding in their area of expertise, advanced professional skills and commitment to the continuing improvement of personal and professional practice, awareness of their own limitation in their designated areas, referring to specialists where appropriate, and involvement with their subject/species community.
Before moving to Dorset in 2015 Lizzie worked in practices in Yorkshire, Warwickshire, and Staffordshire. Whilst studying Vet Med at Bristol, Lizzie also completed a second degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare. We were delighted that she decided to join our practice in August last year.
Lizzie has a particular soft spot for donkeys, however she is dedicated to providing up-to-date and ethical care to all of her patients!
